Code of Conduct

The organizers of ACME Conference are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form.

Expected Behavior

  • Respect and Courtesy: Treat everyone with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions. Be considerate in your speech and actions, and actively seek to acknowledge and respect the boundaries of your fellow attendees.

  • Inclusion and Diversity: Embrace inclusive practices in all interactions. Avoid any behavior or language that discriminates against any group of people.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Communicate openly and thoughtfully, and be open to constructive criticism. Be respectful and constructive in your interactions with others.

  • Professional Conduct: Behave professionally. Remember that harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate at this conference.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment: Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

  • Discrimination: Any form of discrimination based on gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.

  • Violence and Threats: Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.

  • Inappropriate Behavior: Unwelcome sexual attention, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual advances.

Reporting

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by t-shirts, green badges.

Conference staff will be happy to assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.

Consequences

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.
